Well, the daughter and I pulled about 50 feet of wiring that went from nowhere to nowhere, removed the radio because it was a mess, redid the hood release (the inside cable is shot, so it has a outside release), pulled the spare tire carrier out, removed an old alarm, etc...

Determined only about three hangers are holding the exhaust on, so I'm going to add some hangers...

Figure this one out, the ABS and brake lights are now out! We removed the spare tire carrier, and that one bolt seemed awful tight to the ABS module wiring, that's the only thing I can imagine fixed that...

And it still starts, runs, and drives!

Tomorrow will be wiring improvements (soldering stuff, heat shrink, etc.)...

I've seen alot worse looking trucks. Don't know if you know this or not but the non-ic'd trucks have to have power to the KSB all the time when the truck is running.

Isn't that the yellow connector?

Is there a classified section on here? I could use some small parts, and I have a couple gauges to sell...

Get the vin and run a build sheet from the dealer or maybe on line if available. It will tell you everything factory. I think they can still do that old.

Sorry. Still learning my way around a manual injection pump. I'll check that wire for voltage tomorrow and hook it up to the KSB. That might explain a haze when driving while still warming up...

I know my way around a common rail, but these VE44 are new to me...

You have to have 50 posts in order to have access to the classifieds, there are only 3 items for sale in it right now for 1 st Gens and 2 are mine.

Just needs a wire from the FSS to the KSB that way the KSB has power when the truck is running.

I'm thinking that's what the blue/white stripe wire is from...

I ordered an FSM, hopefully that will help trace some of this out...

Yeah, I had a lot of posts here at one point, but it wouldn't recognize my old username when I tried logging in...I think it's because I was using a now defunct sbcglobal email address.

I'm thinking I want to install a bypass filter and will need a spare tappet/valve cover to drill and tap. Figure someone has a set laying around from swapping a billet set in. I have my choice of bypass setups: Amsoil EaBP, Frantz, and Hastings B50; have all three sitting on a shelf.

I also need to get the injector line brackets, as I'm missing at least one...may just go to Cummins for that one. But someone may have that on a basket case engine...

Need the guts from a 81 to 93 tailgate...have a good shell, no guts.

I'm sure more as I go along...

The wire we pulled last night, it was nice having a helper..."see that wire? Follow it and pull it out..."
