91 to 98 p-pump swap help

I’m looking into buying a 91 W250 I found. The owner swapped in a p-pump motor from a 98, built the motor some and added compound turbos. No dyno, but he’s estimated 500 RWHP. Anyway, the truck needs some TLC and would be a fun project truck. He said it runs strong and he’d drive it cross country at the drop of a hat. The help I’m looking for is that the cruise control doesn’t work. He never figured out how to get it to work from going from the VE motor to the p-pump. Any suggestions?

Is the cruise cable connected to the throttle linkage at all? As far as I can tell that's the only part that would be different or need fabbed. Could be the cruise didn't work before the swap?

The cruise control is usually one of the first things to go on one of these old trucks. The clock springs or the buttons on the steering wheels.
