from the sounds of it, i don't think those wheel spacers wouldve given you much problems, lol.

that single wheel rear axle is gonna be pretty narrow for that bed. i think you'll get it converted to SRW and then think to yourself "man, this thing looked good on duals" haha. maybe it just needs a good set of winter tires on the dually setup?

i love the utility of the flatbed and it's a heck of a lot easier to repair/maintain than a regular box.

All you have to do is run a ground wire from the pushbutton to the terminals that are not 12v. That's the way I did it on my conversion.

You can even get a timer relay. Did this on a 6.5 Chevy on the farm after wiring some glow coils into the intake. Push button, relay holds shut for 10 seconds.

yea Im not selling the dual setup until I am happy with the look of the truck, that way I can return it to dual if needed. my wrecked truck had tires with less than 1k miles on them and the duals are pretty bald. sadly the new tires are different than the duals or id just use them.

I was just thinking about you today when I ran across this CL link https://spokane.craigslist.org/pts/5993551542.html Anywho, glad you got your replacement truck!

You could pick up a newer AAM axle, they are stronger than the 70 and several inches wider as I understand it. Some even came with lockers or torsion limited slip.

I can speak from experience when running duals in snow bald tires really make life hard. The day I bought my d350 it snowed about 2 inches, with the cheater slicks that were on it I couldn't even pull in the driveway.

What trucks should I look for to get the aam? I've decided to keep it single wheel and this summer I will be narrowing my flat bed. Is the second gen Dana 80 any wider than our Dana 70?

I think the 2nd Gen Dana 70 is wider than a 1st Gen Dana 70 SRW, I know the Dana 80 is wider.

I'm on a iPad knockoff and the search bar here doesn't work unless I use the mobile site and I like the classic WAY MORE!!! So I just use Google, 90 percent of the time the results are all threads from here anyway.
