You might want to find a gasser as a donor for the parts, that way you have everything that you will need. The Dana 60 is the ONLY way to go.

i think that you could get that truck for little less then that it is 15 years old with over 300k in it, it would make a good 4wd conversion

1995 Ram 2500 12v NV4500 4x4
2012 Ram 5500 6.7/Aisin Jerr Dan 19' RRSB
2009 VW Jetta CR TDI/6spd

Ok, thanks guys i finally have some money, and will be starting the swap.

My plans: Tell me what you think

I plan to locate a whole parts truck.

I will then put my motor and cab onto that truck.

I would assume all that i would have to do is label and disconnect what ever goes through the firewall, take out my motor, put it in the 4wd truck, and then put on my cab.

As far as the trans, what is the difference between the 2wd and 4wd getrag, and can i make the 2wd trans work?

Is it going to be as easy as stated above, or is there a lot of headaches i have not yet thought about?

Well That's one approach to swap body and drivetrain onto a 4x4...
A DTR/tdr member near me converted his '92 d250 into a 4x4 recently. It turned out very nice. He did it all in his garage. it was a 5sp getrag. Now it is an Nv4500 4x4 with a dana 60 front axle out of a one ton srw. He simply cut the whole crossmember 2x4 section out and then mounted up the new 4x4 stuff. IM me if you would like more info, I can get you in contact with him. He will surely help you with any questions you may have if you decide to go that route. He considered selling and just buying a 4x4 but his truck was too cherry...

I am deffidently interested in more information on this swap. Did he have to pull his motor? where did he get the frame measurments for the front springs? how long did the swap take him? I would pretty much like to know everything that you do about the swap. How much did the total cost him?

i too am interested in this swap but for a D350 duelley 5spd. i want to keep the duel rear wheels. Is finding a 350 parts truck the best route again? I need this as dumb down as possible because once number and parts names start flying i get lost...

He didn't remove the motor. Anything else, I would suggest contacting him directly.
