A reflash may or may not reset the counter, it depends on what you are using to reflash it. Some tuners reset it and some do not. If it is designed for DPF removal then yes it will. Star Scan at the dealership does not reset it, there is a separate function for that.

100 ohm sims will not bring it out of a limp mode. It can reset the overhead over time if you are not in limp mode yet, but limp mode generally sets a hard code that has to be manually cleared. Clearing codes doesn't fix it, you need something to clear the counter and the code.

Is there a mid-level resistor that will ensure fewer regens, or no regens, but not so "hot" you get an CEL?
Im not at the shop so I don't know the exact temps. Ill look it up for you Monday.

There is no resistance in between that will stop the counter, but not cause a CEL. If there was we would have manufactured them long ago.

Thanks, and thats what I figured, just had to ask. I have heard lots of good things about your kits, so when the day comes that my 5.9 has to go away (hopefully MANY MANY years) I know who I will be looking to.

Great info! Thanks.

One question I do have though is what about if you will not be running a tuner but removing the DPF and running 110 ohm resistors, do you need to run a pressure sim?

Use the same process you would as I describe with the 330 ohm sims.

Does the Edge juice with attitude set to clear codes on startup reset the regen counter back to 0. Im running the Edge with the 330 sims clearing codes on startup with a dpf delete pipe. Should I be using the 100 sims with the Edge? I dont want my truck to try to regen on me and go into limp mode.

Only the Juice RACE clears the counters. Eventually, yes you will go into a regen and possible limp mode with 330 ohm.

When is eventually? Just curious because im 10,500 miles and counting daily.....330ohm being used

Not a single regen... Although every few hundred miles or thousand. I have to clear "DPF FULL" Service required see dealer now! lol

[QUOTE=hsperformance;2501930][B][U]2007-2009 On every calibration we have monitored, installing 330 ohm sims will not stop the regen counter, only slow it down considerably. Depending on the calibration, it is estimated that the counter will activate a regen between 2,000 miles and 40,000 miles. Obviously, that is a wide range, and many factors come into play such as load on engine, other sensor readings, and idle time, etc.
