Loss of power at 2800rpm g56

Hello. I was towing my car hauler a couple days ago and I tried to past someone. Downshifted to 4th. Floored it. And tried to pass em. I got up to about 2800rpm. I had it wot. And it was like it would not accelerate any more. Up until the rpm I can accelerate fine. Has plenty of power but once I get to the rpm. No power at all.

Meet the governor.

That's a lot of rpm for a Cummins engine. The 2019's red line at around 2900. Yours must be an earlier model because you seem to have a manual transmission.

Is your's a chassis cab? I think they're governed to 2900.

First off, your posting in the 2019+ section
2nd, if your stock it’s the governor like others posted. Delete it and you will rev to 4K no problem.
