Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT / LT285/60 R20

Hi

as I am getting tired running through tires it is also pretty interesting testing new ones

Just got the new Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT mounted.
They replace a Michelin Defender which didn't impress me at all to be friendly.
No clue why they seem to have a famous aura.

Those Coopers do things pretty excellent.
No noise, very comfy will need to see how they do on wet terrain.

On my research I wondered that not many users here are posting to them.
So I thought it might be nice to have a thread in place

Mike

I think Cooper just released these on the market. Iím on a set of STMaxx right now and will be doing good to get 25k out of them. Thinking about going this route since I really donít need an aggressive off road tire. Definitely post back your impressions.

Curious what tire pressure and terrain/towing do ya do? Ive got about 49k on mine and have about 10-12k left. They have performed very well on my truck so far. My stock ATs were at about 30% with 11k miles when I put the MAXXs on.

They just came out so not many with them. I would really consider them for my next set if they had come with the armor tek like the MAXXs. I like the extra protection in the northwest mountains when I get a chance to go out. They are good looking tire and a little less aggressive then the MAXXs.

I have the Michelin Defenders also with about 30k on them and not impressed with wear either. I have been looking at the coopers and the Nitto Ridge grapplers. I will be curious to hear what you have to say after some miles.

Iím running around 70 psi front and rear. Hereís a pic of what I normally tow but itís usually once every few weeks or so. Rest of the time is empty running. Our roads are twisty and several intersections on my way to work. And my truck has the anti-spin differential so that doesnít help at all.

Love my Maxx’s 55k and counting 60 up front and 50 in the rear even when towing unless it is really heavy.

Sunny, thanks for the great photos. Love the looks of the tires on your truck. We look forward to your thoughts on them when you get some miles on them.
