So while I was fixing to install my cover back on, I noticed these two holes, me not being a rear end specialist, whilst it dont look normal thought I better ask?
I have an appt next week at the stealership for a pinion seal change, but this dont look good to me. Truck does have a slight vibration when you hit 70.
The holes are normal, but it almost looks like yours have burs on the holes and metal shavings in the bottom of the pumpkin. Can you confirm or deny those potential problems?
Normal. And you have the torsen style locker rear. Change the oil on a regular basis and all will be good. These style rears also produce a bit more metal while breaking in but are better in the long run.

Looks just like the rear in mine. I did have a problem with mine. I changed the oil and had large chunks of metal in mine. I took it to the dealer along with all the chunks and they wanted to replace the gears and carrier. I have changed the oil once the. And no metal in it. My truck is only used a a tow rig. Very rare to get driven without a trailer usually a 40 foot tri axle enclosed. So the rear diff gets a work out.
Thanks all for the replies. Was worried their for a bit. Took her to a shop today to get the seal replaced.
