First Time Diesel Owner

Hey everyone, I’m a new owner of a 2016 Ram 2500. I’m looking for some insight on mods. I’d like for my truck to be a daily driver, pull a skid steer every once in a while and run better overall.

I’ve heard a ton of stuff and I’m not quite sure what to believe. Any input would be greatly appreciated.... oh and the truck currently has a little over 51k miles.

Thanks in advance.

Recommend you first go through the forum threads and technical article section, get familiar with the Cummins-Diesel lanquage/terminology, then you will be able to ask more informed questions and get better replies. More specific you are, as to what type of modes you are looking at, i.e., deletes, suspension and lifts, tires, etc., more informed info you will get back.

Welcome to the Diesel world!

I can't wait, I've been a bit apprehensive... I'm thinking of waiting for my warranty to run out. I bought it in March with 43k miles and it now has close to 52k. Previous owner removed the intake muffler and as far as I know just added a larger exhaust tip. I drive quite a bit so, a little more power and better fuel mileage would be great.

It appears as though I'm getting around 17-18mpg. But I'm in Real Estate so that can vary drastically depending on what I'm doing. Whether I'm crawling through a ranch or driving on a highway. I'm not quite sure what to expect right now.

That effectively rules out larger tires and a lift. Hopefully you didn't "need" those two.

Maybe if we start telling people that the brain is an app, they will start using it?

'14 1500 V6, '17 3500 C&C, plus a '19 3500 6.4 in the household.

Def don't need a lift, I need to be able to get in and out of my truck bed... short, fat and a lifted truck make that difficult. I've got 295/70/18s right now. That seems to be just fine for now.

You have adjusted your mileage calculation for the tire size?
To me you are getting great mileage.
