Where are you located that you need a smog check every year? Not even Cali is that bad!

No 64k OTD. You have to pay the cali tax weather you buy in state or out of state.

I have driven almost 1100 miles, and they are still not ready. Does anyone know the specific drive cycle for this truck for the Cummins diesel engine, 2018 version? Thanks for the help

I was looking to buy from Dave Smith also. I called in a while ago and I thought his deals were okay. From all the hype, I was expecting the 72k for 58k pricing. The truck I wanted was 66 and they were talking 60. I’m sure when I’m serious they may drop the price another grand or two. If they had offered 20% off I would have jumped on it and not thought twice but they were only 10 percent or so.

If you find the right deal in Cali no need to buy out of state and have all the hassles.

If you don’t mind me asking where did you buy in California for this pricing. I will jump all over the rig for this price. My current game plan is to hold off until the 19’s are here and then try to grab an 18 for a good price. I guess it’s a blessing we are waiting on the 19’s so I won’t be hit with registration and insurance at Christmas time.

Thanks,

Chris

Well, I finally got it done. 1475 miles later, all of the monitors were ready.
Just three trips to DMV, 3 trips to the smog test guy, one trip to Auto Club ("Sorry, we can't do out of state registrations"), and the purchase of one OBD II reader (Which I am okay with, because I have needed one for a while).
Got lots of help from people on this forum, and Joel on this forum actually sent me instructions to get the last two monitors to set. Looks like it did the trick!
Hope to keep visiting this forum, as this is my first MOPAR vehicle, and my first Cummins!

Glad you got them set, for me last month it was 1000 miles. Keep in mind in most states you are allowed 1 not ready monitor. So you donít need them all Ďreadyí

Dredging up an old post here but I just got hit with this today and I believe it was my fault. I have the Edge JWA on the truck which is CA legal but it was set to clear any codes on each startup. So today I stopped off to get it smogged and surprise surprise...no monitors ready. I did have an idea and wanted to bounce this off any of the guys here who have dealt with the monitors not ready...it sounds like I need a few regens under my belt to set a few of the monitors...on levels 4 and 5 the Edge will throw the truck into regen every 200 miles. I always run it on 2 or 3 and get a regen every 800-1000 miles. Any opinion on upping the power level and basically forcing the truck into regens every other day I drive it this week? Thanks!

For California it’s any two monitors. I had a problem of the sensors not being ready either. I looked it up and showed the smog shop, this picture. They said okay and it passed.
