went through mud hole. serv air filter light and turbo noise

this is my first time on here so excuse me if im in the wrong place. heres the story. went through a mud hole. up to the grille. got service air filter light a couple times on way home. pulled over check filter and saw it was alittle wet. dried it off. didn't get any serv filter lights again. but now I think im hearing a slight grinding noise coming from tubro area. assumably its coming from the turbo. im no rocket scentist but to me I think the turbo sucked up some water. but from what I hear the motor should have stalled or atleast drove like if that was the case. truck drove fine. no lack of power. no problems starting. just a little noise from the tubro. help me out. does anybody know what may have happened and what I should do. thanks

this is an oops. lol.
anyhow take the inlet tube off the turbo and check the turbine for play and the turbo housing for impeller contact.

It's raining pretty heavy here. And it's getting late. So I don't think I'll be looking at it until the morning. Do you think that would cause addition damage by sitting and how serious do you think this is. Thanks for the reply

Odds are you sucked crap in, you may not have stalled the engine...but that's not saying you didn't add some to the CAC system

Cleaning everything out. Now. Water and dirt defiantly got to the turbo. But the turbine spins fine with no noises. So I'm just going to put everything back together. Got a new filter. And will run her. Hopefully it will just run whatever's left out of it and burn it off or something.

You can take the comp cover off and check, too.

If it didn't stall out, or huff a bunch of water into the CAC...you may be fine.

Ran the truck. Everything feels fine. All the power is there with no noises but a turbo whistle. So I think I'm fine. Even hooked up my snow plow. Not that that would change much but. Anyways thanks for the responses.
