South Bend SDD3250 Street Multi-Friction Clutch

Just came across this newer multi-friction clutch? Anyone have one like this (quieter version)? I had the full ceramic one a few years back and wasn't too thrilled with the aggressive engagement even though I knew about it upon buying one, it became quite a nuisance over time..

I've had one in my 2011 Ram for over a year. Tow a 10K fiver camper. It is a bit grabby but not too bad. Also backing the camper up a grade takes a bit of finesse, I have 2WD with 3.42 gears. Doesn't slip though.

I ran one in my 03 with a NV56, liked it a lot with the upgraded hydraulics. Both my trailers are 16k+. Like amslube said, backing up a grade can be tricky but I had a free spin kit in that truck so 2wd 4 lo was nice for those situations.

Just got one installed on my truck 2 weeks ago less than 400 miles on it .. Not bad at all.. At the same time it's the lowest clutch level I could run. Due to power and all either way I'm happy with it so far..

I'm running one in my truck and its a little louder then the stock one but not bad. the only thing that could be cause for concern (if you're worried about damaging the clutch which wouldn't happen with this noise)is when you are in a high gear low rpm (1200-1500) it tends to rattle more. sounds like a coffee can with an egg beater in it but I wouldn't hesitate to tow a darn thing with it. very solid.

I drove a NV5600 with a newly installed 3250 DD. I was impressed with the smooth engagement albeit a bit slower than my SBC single. Reverse was smooth.
More pedal engagement with the two discs. My SBC OKHD has a shorter pedal engagement.

yea I noticed that to. I went from the stock single disk clutch to this and I could definitely tell it was a longer pedal engagement.

Ran their clutches years ago. They are a great company that has good customer service. I would buy from them again for sure.
