Thanks so much. That's the answer I'm looking for. So my trans doesn't have problems, just the tuning makes it behave like this?

The tuning combined with driving style. I can drive to avoid it 90% of the time, but occasionally it still happens for me. Seems like it's more likely for me at the 3-4 shift in city traffic (realize I'm speeding or the light isn't going to turn green after all and let off suddenly). It's not just you (have had this conversation with some of my friends too), and no it doesn't seem to be bothering my transmission much. 135,000 and going with trans tuning. Someone will probably chime in later and correct what I've gotten wrong.

Are you driving in tow haul mode, if I am empty in tow haul my shifts can be rough/firm unless I am under WOT. otherwise they are just slightly more firm then stock. I drive in tow/haul pretty all the time. btw

Most of these "shifting problems" we experience in 68RFE trucks are due to the design of the transmission itself to protect itself from otherwise detrimental operation. If you pay attention to the conditions surrounding the shifts you can 90% of the time avoid the transmission replicating it due to how quickly you let off the throttle or at what MPH you let off the throttle etc. Most of these complaints are not going to go away if you run a stock Dodge transmission regardless of whose tuning you use or what fluid/filters you use. It simply is what it is, many have these symptoms and drive thousands upon thousands of miles with no real trouble from it other than these grumblings.

Yeah for sure man if I have cruise set at 40 mph and tap the brake it's just a small clunk. Does it seem like yours does it more in a certain gear or mph ?
