V2.1 vs v2.0 CTT Tuning

Has anyone gone from V2.1 to V2.0? I am thinking about switching to unlock shifts to avoid putting extra strain on the 68rfe.

I am wondering the same thing. I am running the 2.1b its good and all, but some days it seems like i get a shudder when trying to get into it a bit. I did send ctt a message today and they said to either use the 1.6.9.1, 1.6.9 or 2.0. I am gonna try the 2.0 and see how that goes.

Update on the 2.0. I just did my 30 mile transmission relearn and it shifts alot like factory. Only thing I really noticed is it holds the upper gears a bit longer than factory.

Are you running unlocked tunes? I was running the 3.2a beta, but I did not like the engine tuning. I felt like I had no power at all and the turbo didnt seem to spool very much. Plus it smoked alot more than any other tune I have used.

I haven't run 2.0 but I can tell you that I much prefer the unlocked shifts. I haven't liked a single 3.x tune and I've tried a bunch. My favorite tune so far is a 1.71 tune that I got Jonathan to revise with unlocked shifts. Probably similar to the 1.6.9 tunes.

The 1.71 tune holds gears longer than the 2.1 tunes I've tried and doesn't short shift. I found the tow haul mode is better and a lot smoother on 1.71. 2.1 would always lock the TCC in 3rd and shift to 4th kind of abruptly. 1.71 will lock in 3rd under light throttle and heavy throttle, but at 35% to 40% throttle it will keep it unlocked, shift to 4th and lock in 4th a little bit into the gear. Ot makes it seamless.

Keep us updated on the 2.0 if you don't mind.

I definitely will. The only thing I dont like, and the 2.1 tunes did this as well is when I put my truck into drive it feels like it is slamming into drive. Doesn't do it into reverse or neutral.

I'm running 3.5 it is 4th gear lock up with unlocked shifts, power is great and I have no smoke. The 3.3 is also go but I dont like the harsh 3rd gear lock up personally.

It depends on who wrote the tune, some flare, but you can watch your tc in your gauges depending on what tuner you have, raceme, mm3 or ezlynk all show your tc mode

So you look for the slip in the TC? What should you be looking for? 100 slip, 5-600 slip? Or -5 - 5 slip?

I don't know much about auto transmissions, TIA.

If it stays around 0 when shifting then its locked, if your seeing 500 or so then it's unlocking.
