This is great. Thanks! The only thing I'll add is for 2013+ Projector headlights, low beams run the HIR2 / 9012 Halogen bulb. Tails of course are LED but they run the same reverse 921 bulb. Center mount brake light and cargo are also still 921.
Does anyone know what bulbs are in the cluster and in the center dash and if they are even replaceable? I'm doing a white and red theme on the truck so I want all red Leds inside. dash, cluster, doors, etc
So, I'm pretty sure, at least in my 2013 Laramie, that the reverse bulbs are 7440. I originally bought the 921s for them, and ended up replacing my license plate lights instead. Reference - Yahoo
Keep in mind, the license plate light compartment is very shallow. I had to jam the bulb in there because it was too long. I would look for something as shallow as you can. I will be swapping mine out ASAP as I fear my hack wont last after a few good bumps.
My two cents also.. Don't get an LED that fires directly forward for license plate if you have a reverse camera. The lights flush out my reverse lights because they are too bright.

So, I went ahead and replaced my plate and cargo lights with CREE LEDs (Phillips) which are not canbus. I found a nice pair of 25 LED reverse lights. All look great, but I'm receiving light codes on reverse and plate lights. I have to assume that that is because the 2013 has a canbus system. These lights weren't cheap, and I don't really mind the error code, but it would be hella nice to know when they actually DO go out... in 10 years... Cops around here will getcha for anything!
Guzzler, you have a '13 right? And your lights aren't canbus? I can't imagine I have them in backwards or something. In fact, when I did plug them in, there were a few instances that they didn't turn on, due to polarity.
So I take it the 2012 MY is the cutoff for non canbus...and 2013+ uses the canbus equivalents? Just checking before I buy some leds to brighten up the interior.
Also noticed that my truck, 2012 3500 SRW, had 194's installed in the map lights and a 578 (AKA a 211-2 I guess) in the rear dome light. The first page lists 921's in the map lights and I'm not sure they would work as they are quite a bit larger than 194's and may not allow enough clearance when depressing the lens to turn them on.
I know for sure the reverse lights and the tag lights require canbus.. B/c I have a message in my HUD constantly. I put LEDs in my cargo light as well, and have no message there.
Thank you sir, guess I should have mentioned I have a late 12 in case that mattered. I'm going with the Piaa xtreme white halogens, don't care for the hid reliability I've experienced
I purchased mine thru DDM Tuning. I was pleased with the product and they have a good warranty and guarantee. Just ordered mine for my truck and the skim ballast 35w 6k were 111.99. DDM Tuning: HID and LED Lighting
Anyone put led h11 and 9005 replacement bulbs in there head lights ? Can you just put the bulbs in or is something else needed ? I have a 2013 tradesman
I've read that led headlamp bulbs are still not up to par as regular halogen bulbs in the sense of light output. I could be wrong but it's just what other people have been saying. I thought about trying it myself but at $40-$50 a bulb I didn't want to chance that expense
