Trim is cracking and peeling

Hi guys I am wondering if any of you have had the "vinyl" trim crack and peel on the doors of your truck before. If you did any ideas on what to use to replace it? I was thinking painting mine but wanted to get feedback from you guys.

I have attached a couple pictures for reference. Sorry for some reason the pictures turn sideways...

They weren't cracked yet, but... Florida

Exactly, there's a screw that has to come out of of the rubber trim across the bottom of the windows, let it sit out in the sun for a few hours and start peeling from the edge away from the window. Cleaned up the residue with some goof off and put some wax on

Yeah, remove 'em truck looks better without them IMHO

Thumbs up Fix underway

Well thanks so much guys for the advice. I spent about an hour yesterday peeling off the black wrap. The truck already looks better. Now I need to go after it with a little more "Goof off" and get all the glue off. Once that's done a buff and wax and I hope it matches.

Better but not done...

So I put some elbow grease into the pillars today with "Goof off" and it certainly looks better. I have even used some buffing compound to try and help. I am going to have to keep after it. The paint under the wrap is yellowed. It is certainly better without the black but clearly I'm not done yet. Any other tricks you guys have? Thanks in advance!

you could go and have a wrap put on... probably pretty cheap and simple..

Looks a lot better now. I would use a DA polisher and polish to remove the yellowing.

You bent your belt moldings? With the windows down, they should just lift right off after you remove the screw.

I did bend the moldings to be able to get the glue residue out from under them after removing the wrap. I put the screw back on and hit them with the heat gun for a few seconds and they went back to shape. A little heat can go a long way when molding rubber.

Ah, ok. I couldn't remember if these were aluminum backed or not. The ones that are aluminum backed will always have that buckle mark in them if they get bent. Sorry, I did collision body work for decades and forgot a lot of these newer vehicles are solid rubber belt moldings.
