Another AlfaOBD Question ( STumped)

So on my 2018 Ram, I got the security by-pass wiring. I plugged it in like it said to, very vague instructions, but very nice wiring harness. Maybe I plugged the wires in wrong. Not sure. The instructions just said to plug it into an open spot. So that's what I did. Seems like its okay?

So I was able to turn on the rain sensing wipers. Cool.

Then I went in to change my tire size. And this is when the e hit the fan. I found an option for some 35x12.5x18 tires. So I selected that since that's what I installed on my truck.

I saved the change and called it good.

But now I have ABS warning lights going off, my speedo doesn't work anymore, and my trailer brake system has been disabled.

WTH is going on? I tried to turn back the tire size to the stock size, but nothing will clear. I've tried to clear the ABS codes, but I haven't had any luck.

I still can't get into to change my tire pressures either. Maybe I have the wiring for the bypass messed up???

You have to perform the abs initialization pocedures after you change the tire size.

Do you have a link to changing the tire pressures? I'll do a search as well.

Thanks

Absolutely bud.

Hereís the main AlfaOBD thread. In the first post is the link to a lot of popular changes. If you donít find something specific (instructions) you need just ask on that thread as there are tons of people that have made tons of changes. Not all instructions are listed but those guys will know how to make the necessary changes.

Do you want to change your settings to that of a Ram 3500 where itís just a monitoring system?

getlost4x4 04-19-2019 12:13 PM

I'd love to. Mine is a 2500

I'm running 35x12.50x18 tires. Load Range F. I mostly town a car trailer and in the summer a 38.5' fifth wheel when we go camping. So I really do not need my tires set to 80 psi all the time. I usually have them set at 65 psi front and 50 psi in the rear when I'm not towing.

Not to hijack, but what version of Alpha ODB did you buy? Are you using it with Android or Windows? Which is better?

getlost4x4 04-19-2019 12:36 PM

I bought the Android version. I have an old Android phone I use. I'm an Apple computer user, so Windows is a no go for me.

I'm not sure which is better. I bought the full Android version for $49

adboyd06 04-19-2019 01:05 PM

Ah ok. I'm a Windows and iPhone user so I was thinking about going the Windows route. But I'm sure I could get my hands on an old Android phone or cheap tablet. When you buy the Android version for $49 does it come with the ODB reader and an access code or something to download the app?

Or do you download the app and then they ship the ODB reader? Thanks.

Is there a concern related to using AlfaOBD on a phone you use daily? I have a couple of old tablets, but none work well. I'd like to be able to use my current Android phone, rather than have a second device exclusively for AlfaOBD. Are there issues with doing that?
