Alright, so last night I tore into the rear suspension and a buddy tore into the front suspension. I got all the leaf springs off, hangers, and mounted the front suspension mount. Buddy got the passenger spring out and tomorrow I will take off all day and start to put more parts on and hopefully finish.

D, not really. I would do this all over again than to take the head off and replace the head studs. I have done that once on a 5.9 and I dread it. Esp on a 6.7

So yesterday tore into the suspension and got everything in, but now need to adjust the leveling valves, and put some wire loom around some of the lines going thru the frame and around the split to the rear suspension. The front suspension pic is not very good. After this tonite, time to wire up the dump valve and finally on to the tank. Hopefully tues I should be ready for the gooseneck hitch and bed.

Looks great, I love what you have done. I do have a question for you though. What made you go with 19.5's instead of 20's? There are alot more aggressive tire options in the 20" size (like Conti MPT81's). Just curious.

Number 1 is that I didn't know about them. I don't want super aggressive as I will be driving Alaskan hwy. not much off road. Two, i I did know about them I still prefer the tread of the toyos. The super swampers will be perfect for the winter. Three, I saw the brush attack site with the 20's and I don't like how the tires stick out so far and no capacity. 6500 a piece for my tires. There is a company I won't name out of New York that make a bad azz rim in a 19.5, but they stick out so far that they will flip stuff all over the truck. Plus it would be hard to match up the rear fenders and the flares. That would be a 6" flare if not more. I like the ricksons a they fit in the wheel well nicely.

Great build and well thought out. I really like the Rickson 19.5's, I have been using them since 2002 on my 3500 dually. Are your wheels 8 or 10 lug?

So the last few days I have been working on wiring up the dump valves, fuel tank, and wire in the winch controls in the cab. ON the tank install, transfer flow didnt take into account the new fuel filter location that is mounted under the cab right where the bed would meet up with the cab. I called and they said they were working on it.

I took matters into my own hands and moved it. I looked 18" further forward towards the front and saw a location. I unbolted the three bolts from the filter housing, unhooked the fuel lines, and unplugged the connectors and removed. WHat made this so easy was 18" further forward, there was a location that had the same mounting holes. I pushed it up on the frame and bam. Bolted right up. I then cut the plastic lines that come from the metal fuel lines and ran some 3/8" high pressure hose and hooked that up to the filter. The wiring consisted of four total wires and extended the wiring and it fired right up. No issues.

One problem fixed. On to the tank. I had 1/8th tank of fuel and removed the bolts. SKid pan and tank came out easy. The fuel lines disconnected easy as it is all new.

I did all the ohm testing and fitted new tank and 2 hours later, it sits in its new home. The only snafu I had with this is when I went to the gas station. I put in 15 gallons of fuel and 1/4 tank. Perfect. Put in another 10 and 3/8. Ok but that aint right. Another 10 and still 3/8th. WHat the heck. I topped off and tank took 36 gallons.

I go home frustrated and take top of fuel sender and pump off and found that the original O ring was on the float. Put back together and it works. THe only thing I forgot was I plugged the wiring back in and not the hose. I turn the key to check the gauge and my wife starts saying fuel is leaking. It was a geiser. That is why you may see some absorbent on the floor.

Truck is ready for the bed now. Take a few days off to spend with wife and kid and right back at it.

First pic is new location completed and I am pointing at where it was. 2nd pic is looking at new location from the back. The third is where I hooked up the rear portion. 4th is where it was mounted at the stud, and where I hooked up the second line.
