Need advice purchasing my first Ram

I'm looking at a 3500 cab and chassis and a 3500 dually. I currently have a 2005 Ford f350 srw 6.0 that is struggling to pull my toy hauler (16k lbs loaded). I'm looking to replace that truck with one of the rams mentioned above. Both trucks would have the aisin transmission. I would like to know is there is a big power or pulling difference between the cab and chassis and the dually because of the de tuning.

Hmm, well I have owned and currently own several RAM Cummins trucks and while it is just one opinion, I would like to offer you mine.
For pulling a toy hauler like your, you would be well served to consider buying a 2017 RAM 3500 Big Horn dually. Specifically in silver, with Aisin trans, 4.10 gears, cold weather option, carhartt seat covers, weathertech floor mats, extended warranty, < 45-k miles, and with a 40-gal aux fuel tank in the bed.

Oh! Would you look at that, I just happen to have one of those I am selling.

Hmmm, maybe it is destiny?

We are about to head to FL tomorrow for a week with the dually and our camper. I really wanted to take my '12, but the build isn't completed yet.

That's fine. I would still like to talk about it when you get a chance.

The chassis cabs excel at heavy payloads but the engines are derated. I went from a Ford PSD 6.0 with 5R110 and 3.73 ratio pickup to my Ram CTD 6.7 with Aisin and 4.44 ratio chassis cab. The PSD actually had better acceleration but the CTD holds constant speed better. If you are towing heavy within your axle ratings, you will be happier with the hotter pickup engine tuning.

What are the ratings of the cab and chassis? Arent they less than the regular dually?
My toy hauler is 12k empty. With all my gear and maybe the golf cart I cant imagine it would way more than 17k.

What type of trailers and weight are you pulling with your cab and chassis?
