Put 2 stroke oil in my fuel?!

I talked to a guy today about my fuel mileage and he suggested I run a quart of 2 stroke motor oil per full tank of diesel in my Cummins. He said he does in his and his buddies do in 7.3 powerstrokes. He claims it will help my truck get 2-3 more mpgs without harmful side effects. Anyone know about this??
