HP tuners speedometer adjustment

A friend asked me to adjust his speedometer in his 06 truck. I have HP tuners VCM scanner and editor. In the scanner portion when you click on vehicle controls & special functions icon in the top row it pops up as an option to adjust the number. It is currently set at 0.00. Anyone know how to come up with the right number / formula to make the speedo correct without trial and error?

I do not want to write a tune for him, this is in the VCM Scanner portion.

Would it be inches over stock? That's how my super chips works.

what version of editor are you using to get a popup?

i am still using 3.7 & it was trial & error to start with pulse counts, then once a few values wers entered a trend starts showing up and zeroing in on a value gets easier to get to.

i also believe his vin # would need to be locked into your hpt hardware using credit(s).

can you post up a pic of the screen? (on a PC, alt +print screen key press will capture the whole display)

I'm not using the editor. It's in the VCM scanner. And having difficulty now since I just updated the editor, and scanner. Oh and now the MVP1 as well. I can't even now use the channels that I had saved as a basic profile. Most of the vehicle specific PID are now unavailable for me. Still working on getting a screen shot. Firmly believe that no credits are needed. This is similar to the Smarty where you can change the tire size without officially locking the hand held to the truck.

Ping [email protected], he should be able to answer if the vin-lock to the mpvI is needed.

What software are you using?

You may be able to go backwards to a previous version if you have not deleted the installer. I have 3.7Beta & 3.6 installers if needed.

Might be worth it for him to just get a Flashcal. It wonít tune, but itíll adjust the speedo and a couple other features. Itís cheaper than a super chip, but if he ever changes tires sizes again, itís pretty darn easy. FYI, Iím using Hptuner and I use the flashcal for tire size/speedo adjust.

Just a suggestion.
