07 Hesitation on takeoff
After searching the forum I think I know the fix but want to make sure before I invest the time and money.
When I accelerate from a stop the truck will hesitate for a second. It almost feels like a caliper hanging, but then after a second or so it takes off and shifts normal. This only happens when I go fast enough to shift past third gear. If I'm rolling through town and manually holding the truck in second it will take off from stops with absolutely no hesitation.
I think what is going on is it's not down shifting from third into second and then eventually first when I'm rolling up to a stop. It's momentarily trying to take off from third but after a second will shift down and accelerate normal.
After doing my research on similar issues to mine I think the fix is to replace/upgrade the Governor Pressure Solenoid & Sensor but I'd like to hear from those more experienced than I.
Edit - 5.9 with the 48RE transmission.
