2006 transmission issues

I just recently bought a 2006 quad cab 4x4 with automatic transmission. At cruising speeds the truck shifts fine, but from a dead stop it has issues with shifting from 1st and 2nd. It will either rev up or you have to feather the throttle for it to shift.

The truck has the original motor and transmission with right at 300k miles.

Any help would be great.

Second gear apply band adjustment would be a start.
Then check band apply pressure.

Check for diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's) . Turn key on/off 3 times. Leave key in on position 3rd time, engine off. Read codes in odometer. If it displays a P0720 code, you have a bad transmission output shaft sensor. Cheap part and only takes 5 minutes to change. Check Youtube for video on how to change it.

Checked for dtc's this morning and there were none... bout to just replace the transmission with one that has 3yr or 100k mile warranty. It's got 300k on it and I plan to drive this truck for a long time pulling a lot of trailers. So I dont want to be stranded out in bfe.
