twins... decisions!!(The Green Goblin Build)

Ok guys so I am putting a box366/73/.91 on this week to hold me over until I get my new compound setup figured out and built. My question is, should i keep my current 62/65/12 and run a s475 under it or sell the 62 and build a 64/480? I don't tow much. A few times a year maybe and i wanna make good power to 700-800 ish. It is my daily driver and has been great so far. I ran a set of compounds for a while before my 62 and LOVED then so I am definetely building a bigger set just not sure what way I wanna go. Any help would be great guys!

UPDATE AS REQUESTED: Just wanna update the OP on the progression and path that I have chosen and I am now pursuing on this setup. What originally began as a simple charger swap, on my now previous 03 CR truck, which was only to hold me over until I decided on a compound setup to build. Ideas were tossed around and tossed around and I decided on a 62/480 setup originally. Well, as usual plans changed as I liked my single box 366 and had the truck UDC tuned and setup for what made one HE!! of a street truck/ DD. Hooked the sled few times surprised me against some good strong trucks. Then I started to get tired of having a truck that needed more body work due to rust in this ohio salt winters and weather so I decided to strip it of its parts and sell to a local guy at a decent price for a decent truck.

Things were quite for a while as I quietly gathered, bought, traded, sold, bought, bought new and used parts for a new engine that I had acquired from a local shop I am good friends with. I had bought a 06 engine that had a sleeve installed in the #1 cylinder and the others were cleaned up to keep the factory bore. I also picked up 2 03' engine both needing rebuilt for spare parts and use for mock up parts ill be fabricating. And so began the new build. I am shooting for HP in the mid 900's and maybe to touch 4 digits just for gigs and bragging rights. this engine will eventually go into a truck that I have not yet bought or started looking for yet but when the time comes and I find the right truck I will. this will be my daily driver truck and play truck which I will not be towing with very rarely and light.

Here is a run down of what I have planned for the engine build AKA "The Green Goblin":

06 engine:
#1 sleeved stock bore
balanced and line bored crank
new cam bearings
block checked hot tanked and magnafluxed
12v brazil rods shot peened polished balanced new wrist pin bushings and balanced with arp rod bolts

vband charge piping on plenum
03-05 valve cover and rocker box custom fabbed for 06 harness and external breather system

5" air inlet setup with air shut off
stainless polished allen head manifold bolts
stainless polished allen head assembly bolts to assemble external parts on engine
dual electric fans
two stage water meth setup just to keep cool on hard pulls
fuel only no spray/nitrous

This is all I have so far I am sure I missed something and if I have and notice it or you guys notice it let me know. I hope this helps you guys that were curious or that were asking about certain info on the build. I will be running an auto trans in the next truck and if I was guessing it will probly be sent to Lavon at firepunk seeing how I am only 2 hrs southeast from there. But that will come later down the road. Again I hope this helps and let me know if I missed anything or have any questions!

64/480. Just stay away from the II kits. Look into a Stainless Diesel, Crazy Carls or MPI. Much better fitting kits.

62/475.

You have absolutely no reason running 1000hp worth of air for 800hp; you'll enjoy the smaller setup far more than the larger setup.

This is true. I do like the top end of the bigger setup though. Even with the smaller injectors.

I love idea of twin kits and they are very beneficial for people who have no fabrication skills, have no time to build themselves, or just would rather buy a quality kit and be done. I lovee a challenge and love to build/ fabricate. I have built one compound setup already with my stocker. It turned out very good and was suprised how well it fit. Soo I am more than likely going to put this kit together myself from the ground up aswell. I will probably try and start a thread of my build because I know I love reading and seeing other peoples builds and ideas.

How will spool be for the 64/480? I assume slower than a 62/475 obviously but, just wondering how laggy or how quick they would spool?!

That is why I started this thread... I want peoples opinions on the setups. I love a quick spooling low to mid range setup. But I'm hunting for more top end and felt the 64/480 would pull harder up top. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Since you have the SSR and the 60% overs, you'll be able to tune out some of the lag. Next step up would be to start playing with UDC to fine tune it all.

I have been wanting to try UDC but I just haven't had the time to buy the dongle and sit down and fine tune. But I agree I'm sure it would help

My original 700-800 HP goal was really just a base line or somewhere people could get an idea of what I am looking to do. I am always looking to grow on the fuel side of things.
