Banks monster ram intake .

Any one ever had problems installing a banks intake elbow? I got one to replace my crappy leaking cfm+ intake and I had problems with getting it to fit right .

Frist and biggest problem was, it would hit the rocker box . They casted the elbow a little thick on that side . I had to grind it down and sand it to smooth it out . It still hits slightly but if I wiggle it around it falls down and clears. Other problem is that itís longer the the factory intake elbow and bigger . The opening is 3.5 inches I think, so they give you a new boot to adapt it to the factory intercooler pipe. And man did I struggle to get that thing on. It was not fun, I know I made Jesus blush with all the colorful creative 4 letter words I was making up. When I finally got it on the boot is still clocked to one side . Iím not happy about that but nothing I really could do. Anyone else have these problems or is my truck just and anomaly or am I just a retard?

Can see how tight it fits with the valve cover.

I've never heard of any issue like that with Banks. I use one of their 4" in intakes and intercoolers the fit is generally pretty good with them.

I have one on my truck and didn't have any problems installing.

The boots are not fun, and there isn't a lot of room to work. I installed the Banks Big Hoss system when I did my intake, so I didn't have to deal with the stock pipes. Most of that system is no longer on my truck, but I still have my Banks intake.

I would be surprised, fit and finish with them is generally really good. Not everyone agrees that the parts do what they say they do, but they sure do sell a lot of em.

Sorry Guys got no notification that people were replying to my post . Yeah its the right part for my truck. and I haven't contacted them yet. Not sure what they could do really, Ive already made it work. Not to happy I had to grid on it but oh well. Maybe I should contact them and just see what they say? at lest its not leaking boost around the studs like the cfm+ did. When I got it on that night I put the boost checker on . I had a massive leak, I about pooped my paints , I couldn't understand why it was leaking then I happened to notice I had and extra pipe plug in the install bag and sure enough I forgot to put one in. So I had a 1/4 inch hole letting boost leak out lol. Thank goodness I boost tested it first, That would have been a interesting test drive.

I had the same kit on my old 06 and it fit beautiful. Everything lined up correct. Usually banks products have a great fit and finish.
