So, would it work by just connecting a switch to the correct pin, or would I have to run it through some type of control/PWM to adjust the load?

you could have it on all the time but that would draw max current from the system. if it were 6-10 amps, no biggie, but 60-80+ amps, yeah thats a bit much

Could be why they went to a belt driven pump in 2011-2015. Too many problems/meltdowns.

I finally got a reply from the vendor, the pump pulls 7 to 15 amps @ idle, 40 to 50 when turning, and up to 80 at full lock. Not super bad.

The ultimate electric one from Australia?

If so that only flows 1 gpm. Our pumps flow around 3-4gpm from what little I could find. I wonder if itíll be enough?

80 amps at 14 volts is 1100 watts. Thatís about 1.5hp. Which puts the flow right about 1 gpm at 1500 as advertised.

Now I'm confused, they said it flows 3.5 LPM which is what we need.

Could be I got my numbers transposed, 3.5 lpm won't work if we need 3-4 gpm. Well, I already got an 09 upgrade pump off ebay, so I'll be using that I guess.

I don't know if you guys have ever driven a 3rd gen, but it's typical when you turn and hit the brakes at the same time not much happens! lol So, I'm going to upgrade the pump and add hydro assist at the same time.

any idea what coolant pressures are on the back of the motor going into the heater core? Considering a pressure sensor on the back of the motor to detect a no flow condition out of the ewp.
