11 Aug update
I decided itwould be best if I glued the metra adapter in place prior to fiberglassing it in. I was able to fiberglass theo pen slots and the metra trim in place and am waiting for it to dry.
While I waited for it to dry I decided to remove the cubbie from the metra panel as it will just interfered with the gauge installation.

Got a late starttoday as I went to the exotic car meet but I was still able to make significant progress. I was able to grind the fiberglass flat, fill the gaps with short hair fiberglass, sand that down, fill the pin holes with bodyfiller, sand that and primer the piece. I decided to wrap all the fake wood in the truck like this post shows
. My last step until I get the wrap is to drill the wholes for he gauges and a light sanding of the primer.
Short hair applied
Body filler sanded
