Molar fan clutch or other

Need to replace the fan clutch. Itís not speeding up with the AC on, causing AC pressure to hit 450. Put a box fan in front of it and it stayed under 350.

Should I spring for the Mopar one? Are there reliable aftermarket options? Reliability is key for me. Iíll be towing my 5th wheel over 1000 miles from home in a few weeks.

Go with OEM. These pickups have a tendency to not like aftermarket fan clutches and cause issues.

I bought one from eBay or Amazon. My check light came on after I installed it, couldnít remember the code. I bought OEM and replace it with NO issue.
I recommend staying OEM!!

Cerb mentioned the Hayden appears to have addressed their issues and is another acceptable option...

Just like utahtrapper, I have the ford v10 mechanical temperature driven fan clutch, and ordered the adapter on Ebay, used the Mopar fan blades. It was unknown when I did mine if it would fit per the research that I have done. It has been flawless. But I don't tow nearly as much as I used to. In town stop n go driving with A/C on, or up a hill cause the fan to come on slightly, but have had it come all the way into lock up only a few times that I know of.

Search what we have commented on and posted about the fan.

Bought the stuff to convert to mechanical. I hope I donít regret it, but it seems so much simpler. Btw, the Hayden mechanical fan was like $45 after shipping on amazon. Beets the hell out of strictly dieselís $190. This is far cheaper than the mopar clutch.

I got all the new parts for the conversion. Got it all installed tonight. Everything went well. When I first started it up it was pulling more air. I was able to stick a dollar to the condenser. Then tried the air. It worked great for about 10 minutes. Then suddenly the air started acting up. The fan was pulling much less air; I could not stick a dollar to the front any more. Iím really confused. Could I have a bad mechanical clutch?
