No reverse lights and horn honks intermittently

Ok, so I've looked and looked but cant find a solution to this one. I just purchased the truck in my signature. The person I bought it from sold it on behalf of his deceased brother and he doesn't know anything about the truck. I have no one to ask questions about the history of the truck. My problem is that I have no reverse lights. I changed the transmission range sensor, still no brake lights. Before changing the sensor, I didn't have the horn problem. Now, when the truck decides it wants to, there are flashing squares around each one of the gear selections and the horn honks. This isn't every time. It only does it when the parking brake is on. After I take the parking brake off it honks only when i move in reverse or drive. Also on the integrated power module spot number 31 looks like it is melted a little. I cant get the plugs off to get at the circuit board to see if there is damage. Other than the abs, check engine and brake light it runs well. Any help?

the horn honking is one of Dodges great recalls, I had it done on my 3rd gen against my will. Apparently "stupid" people were getting out of the truck with it in drive/reverse and running themselves over so Dodge programmed the truck to honk the horn.
I never did find a way to disable it and it was a pin in the a$$ FEATURE.

So, will it do that if the door is open and you put it in gear? Or is it only once you put on the parking brake. It seems like this truck is all over the place with this issue and the reverse lights now. Almost tempted to put the old range sensor back in.

Ok, now I understand about the honking safety feature. Thank you for the info. If the range sensor was bad, would I need to get something reset on the integrated power module now that its functioning correctly to get the reverse lights back?

Your range sensor might not be installed properly.
Try to remove and reinstall again.

Not to be a jerk about it just asking, but what could I have done wrong? I put it in the exact same orientation. When I installed it, the shift lever was on 1. I put it as far as I could and the screws bottomed out. Not arguing, just looking for what I may have done wrong.

Have to install it in straight.
A little bit crooked will causes issue.

So it could still be crooked even if the screws are bottomed out and tight? I might have to try again just to be sure. I got a friend to put their code scanner and I also got the p0500 speed sensor, p2509, fan clutch and waste gate solenoid circuit codes. Gonna check batteries and grounds next. I also noticed that I didnt get voltage to #31 or 32 - #40 on the IPM if I hooked the positive lead of my meter to the fuse and the negative lead to battery negative. I did get voltage if I hooked meter lead to the positive on the battery though. This is starting to get strange.

It should fuse 32. There is no fuse 31.

Which end of the fuse?
If you get voltage only at one end then the fuse is open.
If you get nothing at BOTH ends then you have issue on IPM or fusible link.

Take care of this first before do anything else.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Lol. I'm getting voltage on one side of the fuse but not across it. Checked continuity and fuses are good. I can get voltage from the battery to one side but not the other. Possible power module problem?
