Its getting time for tires and I was planning on going with Toyo a/t or Falken wildpeak a/t3w but found these Rubitrek tires and have not heard of anyone running them. Will most likely go with 285/75/16
I have nothing to say about the Rubitrek because I've yet to deal with them, but we've run a dozen sets of ATW3 on various trucks and they are great tires.
The truck I just bought about 6 months ago came with Rubitreks. I really like them. I haven’t had them in the snow yet, it they’re quiet and they are wearing very nice.
Had the Wild Peak AT3W on a Tacoma and loved them, they went killer in the snow as well! Had a set of the Toyo A/T on an F150 and they wore quickly but looked very good on the truck. My vote goes to the Wild Peak AT3W hands down!!!
I have had several sets of toyo at's and they have been great. I think your right on the Rubitrecs, very few places have them. I have been tossing around the idea of getting some new 17" wheels and might go with a 305/70/17 or a 285/75/17, I have ran both in the past and liked the way both of them looked. 305 would be toyo but both toyo and falken are available in 285/75.
Im running 285/75/16 wildpeak at3 and could not be happier also. I wanted an all around tire but also one that is not too loud on the highway. The at3s have been exactly what ive wanted in that regard. Ive had them in mud, rain, and snow. No complaints.
I know a guy who's 3500 Ram is a test dummy for the Falken AT3w. Discount Tire locally wants to see how they hold up with a big truck pulling heavy 50% of the time.
He really likes them so far. Balanced easily.
I'm on my second set of Falken WildPeaks.
They wear like iron, low road noise, stay balanced, great on wet pavement.
One of the best brands I've purchased.
Just bought a set for my wife Landcruiser.
I found a screaming deal on a set of Wildpeaks so I jumped on them. Ended up getting 315/75/16 and stuck with my old ford Alcoas. Ill see if I can get some pics up
I’m really happy with the look and the ride. The truck is so quiet compared to before with the 285/75/16 Toyo a/t’s since the rpm have been lowered a bit at highway speed and I’m out of that 2100 rpm drone area now. The passenger seat is no longer epileptic either. Amazon has these for $180 each right now and that’s about $70 lower each than anyone else
I ran the AT3s on my last truck, they were pretty awesome. Not the same grip in the dirt as the BFG KO2s but in the snow and rain, no comparison. Quiet tires, they look good, solid choice.
