Fog lights in a Tradesman? Remote Start?

Can fog lights be added to Tradesman? The cut-outs appear to be there, can the OEM lights be retrofitted and just wired to an upfitter?

What about remote start?

Thanks

i bought a set of factory fogs, i plan to tackle adding them in, over the next few wks.
Would you mind sharing a link to where they are on ebay? I just bought a 2019 Tradesman and would like to add them on my truck as well. Do they come with the whole assembly that's needed to mount them in the factory cutouts? Any ideas on what will be involved with wiring them in? Wonder if they could just be wired up to be activated by one of the auxillary switches?

I’ve been PM’ing another member that has questions about adding the factory remote start to a 2019. It’s definitely doable, just a matter of how easy it could be. I’m trying to figure this out without having access to or laying eyes on a 2019 without remote start, and trying to pick up a trend with what actually comes factory, or what parts could be hit or miss from the factory. We need to verify 4 things- proper hood latch, rf hub, key fob, and programming. I’m seeing one part number for the hood latch and rf hub across all trim levels, but I can’t be sure if the list is complete. Can you check and see if your hood latch has a connector on it, and if it does, is there a harness plugged into it? Can you connect your alfa to the radio frequency module and read the status and tell me what part number it is?(you shouldn’t need the security gateway bypass installed for this) I’m looking to see if it’s 68365298Ax (last letter doesn’t matter). Then, looking to see if the remote start button is on the circuit board. It would be where the arrow is pointing, and look like the two above it-

For programming, the dealer can add the sales code (XBM) and program a new fob no problem. Question is, can the AlfaOBD do it since it doesn’t “actually” support 2019s. I think it can, and that it’s the same bits that get changed in the BCM as the pre-2019s, and the RF Hub gets reset the same way. You’ll need your PIN number for the hub in the form of a key code inquiry from the parts department. Any of this info you can verify would help me determine how easily this could be done.

Thanks as always Jimmy. Let me see if I can get AlfaOBD connected to this truck tomorrow and get the info you want.

Jimmy, not remote start buttons under the keypad. Mine looks just like the one in your picture. Taking that fob apart was not fun until I finally figured out how to fully disassemble to get the rubber pad back in.

Next I'll check for the hood latch switch and harness.

There is no hood switch that I can see anywhere. Do you know where it would be? Or perhaps the Tradesman trucks, even Level 2 don’t have the switch.

@Jimmy07, i believe i lied to you on another thread, but i just took the cover off and i do have a pigtail
attached to the hood latch. i think i told you the truth on having the button on my remote. i
couldn't figure out how to take the dam thing apart, but seems like i can feel the button under the
generic cover for the auto start.

Maybe they all have the hood latch with the hood ajar sensor, now. That sensor does serve a dual purpose for the vehicle theft alarm, also, but I can’t find any info if that is standard across the board. Even if the button is on the circuit board, I can’t find anywhere offering just the overlay pad for the new fobs, yet, but with that style button, you should be able to activate it straight from the blank rubber (if it’s actually there).
Side note, since you said you were going to get the security gateway bypass module, and I think @troverman has the same one- They relocated the gateway from behind the radio to behind the cluster.

Yes it does have that switch and a harness is plugged in. In fact, the message center shows the hood is open when you start the truck, so it works.

I was able to get more money on the trade for the upgrades or else I made it clear some of them would be stripped out of the truck and returned to stock.

I can always buy another security bypass, they weren’t too much money.

Those are definitely not the same as what comes on a Big Horn. Dealer quoted me $400 for all the parts...brackets and lights and harness. I’d have to wire them to the upfitter switches which is fine.

There are only two ways to get fog lights on a 2019 Tradesman:

-Safety Package with full LED lighting, including fogs

-Cab & Chassis model like the one above. On C&C trucks, fog lights are a $195 option, along with mirror mounted reverse auxiliary lamps.

benny sent a very informative pm on the part #'s..

fog assy - 68353533AA - need "2"
tradesman bezels - 68449341AA - comes in a set, so need "1"
bracket kit - 68449383AA - comes in a set, so need "1"

that's just to get the fogs mounted. i need to look under there
and see if there's a harness somewhere, or if i need to run them
to a switch.

So, we’re you just missing the correct bezels for the other style fog lamps you had to fit? Either style should work with the proper bezels being that the bumpers are all the same.
They reconfigured how the fogs get wired. Instead of a separate jumper harness plugging into a connector that comes from under the fuse box, They are tied in with the park sensor jumper harness. The front facia harness probably isn’t there, but look for this left dash connector on the driver side fender area somewhere.

i plan to get under there and see what's what this wknd. i'll remove the fender liner and get a better look.
that way, when the fogs come in, i'll know what's needed. would be great to have a harness already under
there, since it was that way with the trailer brake controller and footwell lighting harnesses.

the other ones i got, i already sent them back. it looked like the limited / laramie ones, but the lens was
more of a rectangle shape, and the sensors were at the bottom. who knows what i possibly got from
ebay

Keep us posted with pics and install. I’m looking for fogs on my tradesman too but have no uplift switch

#32 ·
Either would work with the correct bezels. My plan is to wire to the upfitter switch again. If the bulbs are standard fog light bulbs, you can buy harnesses that are universal

#35 ·
Well, looks like they just HAD to change it up. Used to be able to use a universal 9005 female connector for the fogs. Now they had Aptiv design them a new connector specifically for these fogs-

The body is much shorter and the terminal spacing is different. Of course, these are non stocked, with a minimum order of 1500 to get a distributor to stock them.

Very interested to see if the part numbers provided work out.

While we are searching out part numbers, has anyone figured out the part number for the tailgate dampner???
If you’re talking about the DeeZee tailgate assist, it’s the same one used from 2013 to 2018 models.
I installed one yesterday on my ‘19
