In a year or so, if there is no problem with my truck, I will probably install a disaster prevention kit if available. I just like that idea and the insurance it provides.

Im curious to what, if any, too tight of filtering affects the pumps. If the filters are restricting flow a lot and more when they plug and more often. Would this not shorten pump life?

on a stock truck? debris maybe?

Estimating 242k on my tcdiesel.com rebuilt CP3 unit. Although, it rarely, if ever sees 20k psi.

It had a programmer. No debris that they could find.

wow that is weird. I had a few on mine (Tdge, TST, Smarty) up until I started up with smarty UDC, then HPT. My first one lasted to approx 170~180k.

I think having extra filtration might not be a bad idea for adding an extra layer of protection and to minimize filter clogging. I ran three filters on my '06 which included the Donaldson P551313 (2um absolute), the Baldwin BF1212 fuel/water separator (20 micron absolute and 95% emulsified water removal). And in the stock location, I used the Baldwin PF7977 (5 micron) fuel/water separator.

Yes, I saw your post soon after you posted it. And thank you for that information. But to make this easy, we are only counting CP4 failures from forum members, otherwise, it will turn into a circus with rumors, hearsay, or multiple people reporting the same event, etc. So far, on this forum, nobody has reported a CP4 failure. To be fair, I don't think anyone has even owned a 2019 Cummins for 6 months.
