Owners: What do you dislike about your 19s?

I switched from Ram to Ford last year and I’m considering coming back to Ram since the 19s have enough changes. The 18s didn’t have enough changes for my liking from my bulletproof 2012. 2012 2500 6.7L deleted from day 1 truck.

Any insight to common problems, design flaws or positive feedback would be very appreciated.

One flaw I heard of was that the air levelling system is terrible and barely works in the cold Canadian winters (on 18s).

The electric tailgate latch that locks when the truck is locked is a pain in the butt and lack of tie down points in the mid portion of the bed. Other than that it has a 1000 miles on it and hasn't left me stranded yet , I really like the rest of the truck.

Initial dislikes include the look and that the rear door seals allow water to drip onto the seats when opening them after a rain.
Also that someone will inevitably call it a Gen 5 at some point.

The list may get longer after driving our '19, in which case I'll update it.

Maybe if we start telling people that the brain is an app, they will start using it?

'14 1500 V6, '17 3500 C&C, plus a '19 3500 6.4 in the household.

I love everything about my truck except the blind spot behind the rear view mirror. I am 6'7" and for me it blocks my view.

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully more will come.

The ford locks the tailgate as well but you can disable by turning the auto lock feature when the truck hits a certain speed. That locking tailgate drove me nuts becaus I use it for work and I would stop, open the door and the damn tailgate would be locked. Numerous times a day.

The one ford feature I did not care about at the point of purchase was the panoramic sunroof/moonroof but wow, it’s amazing. I sit in the truck for a lot of hours during the winter and it makes the cab feel so open. I’ve never opened the sunroof part. I kind of hope ram does that too but I doubt it. Too many related problems.

overall I really like the truck so far: smooth riding, nice tech, feels solid, LED's are amazing, lots of compartments. Dislikes: back sliding glass stuck and track busted after 3 weeks, I think the back seat clunks around on bumps, I haven't found the source of the sound yet, seats are super soft (longhorn) but seem like the leather will warp easily, switching to R from P is loud, but i'm used to Allison tranny's...

The A/C is weak compared to prior models. The 12" touch screen has glitched and self corrected a couple of times.
Other than that, well worth the upgrade to a 19. Super quiet, smooth, better lighting, better safety tech, maintenance seems easier, pretty much all of the issues I had with my prior 13 have been improved.

After owning a '15 & '18 3500's I have to say although its not a total redesign I think the new trucks are awesome. My only complaint is that the Harmon Kardon stereo has no bass compared to the Alpine systems in the older trucks. The ac seems to be a little weaker as someone mentioned above but it gets the job done here in Texas. Other than that I love all the upgrades from the previous version!

Thankfully,no start/stop feature on the diesels to my knowledge.
We had that in Florida on a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I just switched from Ford to Ram and starting to think FCA is going to by me a new Ford after they buy this one back. Truck is back at dealer for grid heater, battery problems for the second time in less than 13 days. I would hang on to your Ford, unless it starts to fall apart like these new Rams. Just my .02

A/C. you guys are crazy... lol. Compared to my 12 this a/c kicks major butt. 95ish today and within 15 seconds blowing cold. My 12 would blow cold the first 15 seconds then crap out the compressor. This thing is a whole new animal coming from my 12. Super scary quiet, I'd go as far as quieter than a gas motor kind of quiet. Love my bighorn trim, 2 exhaust break options, tpms not just on truck but can hook into trailers also, leds, unloaded highway seems about 16.... too early to really tell, gauge cluster is customizable in the window things, way better than what I had. I will say the 68 shifts soooooo much better that it doesnt even feel like the same trans, even has a step under the rear bumper. If your on the fence like I was just do it. I will say I initially looked at a tradesman to save money but it wasn't worth the sacrifices. Only thing to get used to is the tailgate that locks with truck and that it slowly opens. I'm not scared of the updates they did, I actually like them.
