Went to the dealership that always use last Friday to check out some new trucks, I have never been happy with my C&C truck, and look what followed me home. 2018 Laramie with the HO engine. What a world of difference!! No comparison in ride or power, and fuel mileage seems to be better also (haven't hand calculated it yet). Best trade I have made in a while, looking forward to a long relationship with this fat bottomed girl.
Back in 2014, I traded my 2012 tradesman 4500 for a 2014 Limited 3500 dually. Hands down the best trade I’ve ever made. I grew to hate that c & c truck. The dually I traded for May be the best truck I’ve ever owned. What a difference!
Unless you need the payload capacity or straight frame rails of a chassis cab, the pickup is a better choice. In my case, carrying 3 tons while towing 4 more put me out of the range of a Class 3 and would have even been marginal with a Class 4.
Yeah, one less thing to take up space in the garage.
Until someone wants to buy that tailgate, since people seem to manage to dent and bend them quite frequently.
Not saying that tailgates are useless, though. They are a great place for a Rams head badge, and various other badges. Plus some have purdy marker lights on them.
Oh, and they do have spoiler of sorts built in. Good stuff.
I was talking about the Joe Diffie song. Refrain goes:
“You could set my truck on fire and roll it down a hill
And I still wouldn’t trade it for a Coupe de Ville
I got an 8 foot bed that never has to be made
Ya know if it weren’t for trucks we wouldn’t have tailgates
I met all my wives in traffic jams
There’s just something women like about a pickup man”
You know a cargo light throws off a romantic glow!
