I have a 15 and after having the water pump recall done my belt or pulleys Squeak every time it rains or we have really high humidity, I told the dealer this and they said the tec probably got some grease on the belt and it would go away. This was a year ago. I don’t drive the truck much it has 38,000 miles on it. Lately it seems to be getting worse, but we have been getting a lot of rain. If I drive it for 30mins or more the squeaking will stop.
Could this be a pulley or a tensioner issue with only 38k?

After a year good luck making the dealer do anything. Inspect the belt and replace if needed. If it started immediately after the water pump was replaced inspect that as well. If that bad you could probably get the dealer to replace that.
Mine does the exact same thing and it started immediately after the recall was done. I have maybe 10K miles and it's been about 1 yr since the recall and it has not gotten better or worse. My assumption is they contaminated the belt. I am going to replace it someday but I keep forgetting to buy one.
On other vehicles I have had success with spraying engine cleaner on the belts when off, then try doing it while idling (the fan sometimes makes that hard) followed by a lot of water from the hose. If its grease on the belts that usually fixes it. When that does not fix it, a new belt and manually cleaning the pulleys also did not fix it, and had to replace the tensioner. I would have insisted the fix it right away, clean the belt or replace it since they messed it. But that ship has sailed, unless you are lucky and they remember you complaining and actually care. A lottery ticket would have more luck though.
Yeah, I figured it would go away on its own after a few rains so why complain and spend more time at the dealer. Then I hoped maybe after a few more rains...
Could just be coolant got on the belt.
IDK if the new trucks are any different, but the old 07, I replace the OE belt at about 100k, jsut because I was packing a spare for long road trips. Aftermarket Gates belt.
Got a little ATF on it from replacing the hydro pump and it squeaked whenever it was humid out or wet. No amount of cleaning helped it. I used everything from soap n water to solvents to even putting belt dressing on it. The only thing make it go away was a little dab of dielectric grease, and that would only last about a month and it would cause the fan clutch pulley to slip at lockup.
Replaced with another Gates belt, got some coolant on it, same thing.
With just the coolant contamination, I tried the same stuff and even scuffing the belt with a brillo pad and steel wool while the engine was idling. No love only a new belt cured it.
Replaced with a Gatorback belt and no more issues.
2 years now squeak free...
Haven't spilled anything on it yet though!
If it was from a water pump at the dealer, I'd be squeaking for a new belt.
New belt on order from Genos. I needed filters and stuff and, with this belt problem being brought up at just the right time, I remembered to add a belt to the order this time (finally). I'll report back after the first rain with the new belt.
Same with mine. Squeaked like a chipmunk when i went to pick it up right after the water pump recall. Went back in to “complain”. The tech came out and scuffed the running belt with a little wire brush. It worked for a few days but it started squeaking again. Seeing as this truck is much quieter than my ‘01 i figure its a safety warning feature for inattentive pedestrians. Someday i will attempt to replace the belt.
So who makes the best replacement serpentine belt for the 6.7??
Thanks for all the reply's...
This is what I was thinking as well. Or I would just spray it down at the car wash but now a year later I am guessing it will be time for a new belt. I never seem to have much luck with local dealers
The half ton I had before this did the exact same thing after I drove through a puddle in a parking lot. Must have contaminated it with something, I finally replaced it with a new belt after a couple years. Not sure why I waited so long...
Yeah, I was cursing it, too. Huge truck and no room to get to anything. But then I thought about Ford and wondered how many parts I would have to remove to get to the fan belt on the Powerstroke and I felt a lot better.
