2015 Ram 2500 SLT Lightbulb replacement guide

Hey all. I’m about tired of the dim headlights on my truck. I have to replace a couple bulbs and I was thinking about just replacing everything with led while I change stuff out. Is there a guide that lets me know what I need to get to replace my factory SLT light bulbs?

2 new bulbs.

What exactly are you asking? If there’s anything in addition to the LED bulbs?

Google EASILY finds:

https://www.sylvania-automotive.com/apps/vlrg-us/Vlrg/

https://www.superbrightleds.com/vehicle

Any bulb location that's monitored to look for a halogen bulb will trip a message unless you do some programming or get some resistors.

If you have projector lights, you will just annoy people and probably not get much useful light if you put in LEDs.

I specifically want to get better brighter lights that let me see better at night and donít look yellowish. The computer stuff is what I was worried about. Do they make led lights that are built to compensate for the factory lights and computer stuff?

I never understand, "dim headlights"???

How old are you? Ever owned an older vehicle with sealed beam headlights?

My first 8 or 10 vehicles didn't even have halogen headlights in them!

@Ltngdrvr People often forget about the days of sealed beams and vinyl bench seats in standard cabs when they sit in heated and cooled leather bucket seats of the modern truck

@diode Dynamic Makes a great LED bulb for the Quad housing units, the Supernova V3 were the best plug and play units, however they upgraded the Supernova to a V4 and in doing so, make them so they no longer fit. But the Diode Dynamic SL1s should fit in there perfectly, while providing a superior beam.

There is a cheaper alternative that is a copy of the Supernova V3 bulb, but i don't feel like going through the thread to find it. please refer to this thread for more info on them, they will be linked towards the end of the thread

If you have projector headlights, the best option is honeslty HID for the best light output, i do plan on comparing HID to LED in projectors at some point this year, but i haven't gotten around to picking some up

I thought it was LEDs (and HIDs) in the standard reflector housings that were the big annoyance to other drivers. Lots of glare.

Iím in my 30ís. I do know what you are talking about. My first car was a 68 mustang I rebuilt. Yes my current lights are better than those but there are tons of deer out at night here and in the last 5-10 years my vision has taken a and itís harder to see at night regardless of glasses etc. bottom line is I want to be able to see better at night without putting a giant light bar on my truck.

My first car was a 63 VW bug. 6 volt. Even after conversion to 12v they were still dim. But, as with you, my eyes were better back then.

HIDs for projectors and LED for reflector. Need a quality bulb obviously.
