2013 or 2014, what should I do?

I am trying to ditch my Armada and get a diesel power mega cab 2500.

Only problem is I got a family of 5 (sometimes 6) so I need that front bench seat.

I found a '13 SLT 2500 I can get for 45k but it has the buckets up front.

Is it possible to order a bench seat at the parts counter?

I guess if I order a 2014 I will paying closer to msrp right?

Anyone know how long until the 2014's hit the showroom?

I would love saving the $$ buy getting a left over '13

Looking to save the most cash, Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

where are you at? I'm sure there is a truck you want somewhere out there if you do alittle research.

There are some bench seats out there, but they are hard to find, and to get all the options I wanted I had to order it. I think there is quite a few guys on here that did the same. If your not to picky on color you may get lucky and your dealer of choice can locate one close enough to make dealer trade.

You won't need to pay MSRP for any ordered truck, you should still be able to get it for around invoice maybe a little under invoice. The kicker is the $3000.00 in rebate money. That probably won't hit that level till next year sometime on the 14s.

If you give me a zip code and color and options you like I can do some quick searches and see I can spot any near or close to you.

I wanted mine with all the options you can put on a Laramie except the buckets, that I can tell you pretty much a order unit. But if your happy with a basic Laramie pkg or SLT pkg that should be something doable. Bench is not available on a Longhorn or LTD.

I was told at the stealership that there isnt any mega cabs with bench seat in over 500 mile radius. I should of walked over to the parts counter and seen if I could order a bench seat, To me a truck is a truck as long as it pulls I dont care about color or options, I just got to keep every penny I can. I could not believe how much room was in the back of that truck I fell in love instantly.

I suggest you order a '14. Even if you do find a bench seat in a Laramie there are going to be a lot of other options that are added that you don't want. The price net to get your "perfect" '14 versus a leftover '13 is not going to be that signficant. (Your truck will also be one year newer from a resale perspective.)

Here is a silver mega bench seat 4x4 SLT
Its in IL
I am not sure where you are but, you can buy trucks over the over the phone and have them shipped to your door step. I did that with my last Ford. I wanted a specific color and options and there were only 3 in US, I bought it from a Dealer in OH and had it shipped to KS, I think it was about 1000 miles and cost about 1000.00 to ship, but I bought the truck in back of invoice and got all the rebates, which had I ordered a new one which it was similar to your situation it would have been higher price and no rebates.

Here is a White one in ND
2013 RAM 2500 SLT, $45,747 - Cars.com

One other thing I would mention, I believe the buckets are a 500.00 option on the sticker. depending on where these trucks are in relation to you. That's 500.00 your paying for something your wanting to pay more to have removed. I suspect you may be able to buy the parts needed to convert one, but it would not shock me if it cost over grand. The tricky part I think could be the seat belts, also where the console meats up with the dash, the bench seat model has a storage box built into the dash. I think it will take a lot of parts to convert one. Basically what I am getting at is you could possible get exactly what you want for still less then what it would cost to try and convert one. 500.00 bucket price a 1000.00 parts list. You could pay 1000.00 transport fee from about anywhere in the US and still be money ahead.

Your welcome.
If that Red one is close, this black one in NC might be pretty close as well.

2013 RAM 2500 SLT, $43,895 - Cars.com

Edit:
Looks like there is also a white in NC as well.

We really like the red one, I called a local stealership and gave them the vin and location. The salesman called me back and said no problem having the truck shipped to them. I am going in Monday to get the process started, cant thank everyone enough !!!
