What is the intake silencer and how can I get mine to "fall off"?

Here is a write up on doing the job. Very easy and easily reversed if you feel it was a waste of time.

Don't set your hopes high for how loud it'll be. It sounds a little better than with it in, so I've left it out so far. I have wondered if the baffle being removed would have any impact on fuel economy since there was an old thread where someone claimed the intake baffle also "smoothed" the airflow through the intake...

We both have b&w hitches and keep the pins anti siezed.

What went wrong with his? I got the model without the built-in locking mechanisms. It uses set screws where the locks are on the other models, and a standard drawbar pin in place of their receiver locking system. We definitely get a lot of road salt here in MN...

Nice hitch. I think I need to go with something like that. Get tired of switching balls with different drops for my different trailers.

Your likely good didn't realize they had em without locks. His locks and locking mechs siezed up and could not be broken loose even soaking in a pail of wd40.

Cool, that's what i was afraid of. I keep a torch, graphite lube, and tri-flow in the truck during the winter just for dealing with trailer and job site locks. The last thing I wanted was more lock cylinders to deal with.

Thanks! That's why I got this one, had way too many drawbars and I needed a new one anyways because this truck doesn't squat nearly as much with my everyday work trailer. Keep in mind that almost all of the adjustable ball mounts have a 10k max tow rating, so you'll want to keep a heavy duty mount around for the real heavy loads.
