wiring in chargers

anyone ever done a power inverter with a couple AC plugs somewhere to wire in a charger (Ex: flashlight charging base) to their trucks that turn off without the key in?

When I got my truck it had the factory one. I thought great, now I can charge my batteries for my tools in the truck.
Turns out the plug is not rated very high, so I never used it.

Heck, I have a triple plug adapter in mine, have my wall plug phone charger and my phone signal booster both plugged in, but I guess those are still low enough draw not to overload it.

I think it is a 150 watt maybe???

I have not seen an OEM charger, any link? I'd like to see it.

I'd like to buy an inductive type charger. No cords, just park with bumper next to inductive coil. You can hang the coil, so as you park, the coil behind the grille bumps on to the one hanging at your parking spot.

Kinda like smartphone wireless charging, but for cars/trucks.

Maybe even a cordless block heater too. It might be harder, as it needs more power.

OEM charger???

Nobody said anything about an OEM charger, we were talking about the OEM inverter, that you might plug a charger into.

You can get ones that plug into the power outlet. One is keyed and the other is not. But inverters use some power just sitting there on even if you have nothing plugged in. There are also Mopar ones and aftermarket ones you can mount elsewhere. Just don't leave them on and kill batteries.

Still trying to decipher the question.
But I'll give it a shot...

Small inverter, say 150 to 350 watts = Simple.
Big inverter 2 or 3 kW = doable but a bit more involved as you would need a solenoid between the inverter input and the battery.

BTW...
If you're gonna' go through the aggravation of doing a nice clean install I'd go with a pure sine inverter over a modified wave inverter, but that's just me.

I wired in a 1000W PSW inverter on a shelf behind the rear window under my cap. Put in a solenoid at the battery that only connects when battery V is above 13.x, so effectively is only on when the engine is running. Turn on/off the inverter thru a relay connected to one of the truck's auxiliary switches.

Usually use it to charge my trailer batteries or run a frig. But it can also run a small angle grinder/cutoff for field repairs.
