Extending Max Care past 7 years

My '14 is low miles and in perfect condition, 48K miles. Just had a Nox sensor replaced under Max care that would have been $1500 but was $100. I was told by the dealer that Max Care can be extended past the 7 years. Anyone done that and at what cost. This will be my last diesel so want to keep it a while. With a 10% sales tax I am not buying new again.

Don't buy from the dealership. Many other Chrysler dealers across the nation that offer competitive pricing on extended warranty plans.

I bought my genuine Mopar Maxcare online.

Can't address that, but suggest as above that you contact a discount online FCA dealer for the quotes. Any FCA dealer can sell you extended warranties, but the savings from the guys who have realized there's money in the volume is huge:

CR Motors of Adrian Michigan -- Ram, Chrysler, Jeep
https://www.chryslerwarrantydirect.com

Ziegler Auto Group of Illinois and Michigan -- Ram, Chrysler, Jeep
https://www.chryslerfactoryplans.com/
https://www.chrysler-warranty-online.com/

IMHO, Ziegler rocks.

I have 1 year and 52,000 miles left on my existing Max Care. Another 2 years added would be great. It's as clean under the hood as the day I got it.

Anybody got any ideas about non-dealer extended warranties in Canada?

The guys over on wranglerforum get theirs from this dealer. Ask for Clay. They say he gave them a great deal.

Are you all buying these up front or before the warranty expires?

I'm not normally a fan, but all the electronics and the talk of CP4.2 failures has me a bit concerned.

Are they just going to blame a pump failure on fuel and deny any claim anyway?

My current 2004.5 is coming up on 16 years and I'm only rolling up on 72K miles. Had a few minor issues and it could use injectors and a trans refresh, but nothing major. I don't know I'll have the same luck with the on order 2020.

Called Max Care today. They can extend my warranty another 5 years if done before it is over on 4-15-21. They add another 12K miles for every year added even though I don't need more miles. The cost today for another 5 years is about $4500 but would be more next year. That would make the truck 12 years and up to 160K miles. Guessing it would be about $5500 next April. Is it worth it fo peace of mind for expensive repairs for another 5 years. With all the 14 recalls and a recent Nox sensor fail that would have been a $1000+ dealer repair these things could get really expensive to keep on the road in the 7-12 year range.

Don't deal with FCA directly. That gets you list price. Get a quote at one of the volume online dealers in Michigan. Will save you thousands.

Use Google and get some prices. Let you local dealer have the chance to match it. It will be a two minute conversation, he will or won't. If they do it will help your local relationship. Also ask about more years without so much more. On them less miles is usually less money. Try to match years and miles to yur use and needs. Remember it does not cover certain DEF and smog parts.

99 2500, Quad cab, 4x4 47RE, BD pressure lock on it, small BD 90/140 chip on the VP 44 connection plug, 17" 3rd gen wheels. 3.55 diffs. Ruenell front bumper and warn winch, Rancho adj shocks. 663k miles.

They can add any number of years up to 12 from new. They have to add 12K miles a year, I asked. I called the discount warranty line. If it doesn't cover all the expensive smog stuff then it's really not worth it. They know what is going to fail and when. I would have to get a list of what is NOT covered.
