Code P2201 NOx sensor issue

Got another CEL with code P2201 NOx sensor Range performance Bank 1. I have had CEL's before and they have gone away. Can this sensor be cleaned with good results ? Will cleaning the EGR valve help? I have to get a smog test for registration or I would just wait to see if it goes away.

No cleaning possible with any good result.

Could be just an errant code, clear it and see if it comes back, if it does then the sensor needs to be replaced.

Crawled under there and OMG, there are sensors everywhere on the exhaust. One thing, this is not going to the dealer for them to change parts till it's ""fixed"". I can hear it now,,,"they were all bad".

I have seen that video and mine is not like that. I have 2 sensors on the DPF that go to the same point that looks like some kind of valve. Nothing mounted to the outside of the frame. Then there is the DEF injector on the front of the SCR cat. Looks like there could be something at the exit of the turbo. But nothing like the video.

OK found the down stream NOX at the rear of the scr cat, module and all. That one would be way to easy to replace. BTW, what is a good scanner for the Ram?

Just went through this on my truck and a P229e and a U059f code
I would recommend Alpha OBD and a obd link mx
This allowed me to see the actual readings of the sensors in real time to help diagnose
If you need readings to compare to let me know

I had P2201 and Uo59F and it was my upstream sensor. Replaced it and things run better and no more CEL. It took me about 2 hours to replace it as it is in downpipe right by turbo. Remove tire, remove inner fender liner and then go to it. Not that hard. My truck is a 2013.

I have the same code P2201 Nox Sensor Performance - Bank 1. It seems to throw itself on and then sometimes it turns off. I bit the bullet and ordered the OEM unit last night. I can tell you that the Mopar Part Number is 68210084AA and the Cummins Part number is 5289662. I did notice a savings if you source under the Cummins number.

I had the very last one the closest to the tail pipe go around 30,000ish miles, still under warranty at that point and it was changed for free. For some reason I looked under truck next day and saw the new shiny one at rear, for some reason I touched it and it was finger tight, so I had to tighten it. At least it wasn't like the poor guy that had the oil drain plug finger tight. For some reason I was told it wasn't in stock, so they had to order it.

Max care will cover both front and rear for $100 deductible. While there I can get the pile of recalls done except the drag ling. Plan is drive an hour through so cal traffic and spend the day at the dealer then drive home through same traffic. Fun.
