Driving The SNOT Out Of This Thing

Once things are up to temp and my DPF is over about 500....

I really enjoy driving the pants off this truck. Not flooring it off every light, just 9 out of 10. I’m usually shifting above 2K, and while I do not boost launch the truck, I get on it pretty good from a dead stop. Basically right at the point I’d spin the tires.

For all you who are going to say anything negative - that’s fine. Free country so say your piece.

I’m really interested in those who feel similar to me. Those who drop the hammer and redline the piss out of these trucks....unloaded. Anyone have any long term issues? I feel like these trucks are stout enough to handle the ‘heat’...and true some 68RFEs crap the bed, but is there a REAL problem with drowning these things in diesel so to speak?

I’m sure you’ll be a great thread starter with lines beginning like:
“You’ll never guess what happened...” or
“How do I fix this?” or
“What do I do now?”

No problem at all. Have fun. Your truck will hold up just fine and not have any issues now or ever. The 68rfe loves heat and being redlined.

Likely yes I would come here for advise. But if I happily break it, I’ll happily ‘buy it’
My question is more stemming from the fact that I can’t be the first person do treat their truck like this...so how is everyone else's

Yeah, I think Nick was being a little sarcastic. IIRC, you're running Calibrated Performance tuning, which would probably explain why you are enjoying your truck sooo much. Am I right? If so, I think it's safe to say you like it?

I'm currently saving up funds and trying to convince the boss (aka wife). I think the funds are the easy part.

I dislike threads like this lol makes me want to delete even more. I like making her work when she’s warm. That’s part of owning a diesel.

Nah. Not yet.

Calibrated Performance is emissions intact tuning.

When I'm ready to bite the bullet (I mean when the wife is fully convinced) I'm going to call them. I just want/need to know how hard it will be ($$) to move from intact tuning to delete tuning when the emissions crap does start to fail. Is it something they offer or can I use their equipment to load delete tuning from another vender. One thing is for sure, I will not spend thousands replacing emissions stuff. I'll trade the truck in first.
