Putting front passenger on jack stand?

Excuse the title please. I realized that didn't sound quite right lol.

What method are you guys using to do this? This seemed like a decent idea, but then I got worried about putting that much weight on the axle disconnect.

I’ve put the jack stand there with no issues and even to the right of where you have it in the picture, between the two bolts. Otherwise you can put it under the frame by the passenger door.

when i put mine on jacks i do it the opposite way you do. i put the pump jack where you have the stand, and the stand where you have the pump jack. i put my stands near where the radius arm brackets on the axle are

I agree. Its far more stable with the stands as far outboard as possible.

I never put the passenger side on a stand. Put stands on the other 3 corners and use the jack there.

If you use the jack for that corner, as a safety backup put a stand not quite touching under the disconnect.

I rotate tires using a jack at one corner (I put the rear on stands and use the jack in the front, one side at a time) but if I am going underneath with a wheel off, it will be firmly on stands and I might have the jack there too as a backup.

That’s what I ended up doing. My jack stand was a little too tall to put under the control arm unless I jacked the truck way up. Had to replace the NOX sensor behind the turbo. What a pia.
