I'd like to add that I was always concerned about reliability and durability with the HID Kit that was installed in my truck. Using the HIR 9011's and HIR2 9012's has alleviated those concerns. Note, it was not a Morimoto kit, it was, IIRC, a Race Me (?) and it was a POS kit. The light output was great, but the output I have now is more than satisfactory and if I need a boost, I have a Vision X light bar between the tow hooks that provides instant daylight.

I had the HID's "professionally" installed, when I removed the kit, I couldn't believe the shoddy work that was done! The dust caps were butchered beyond belief!

Always a naysayer in the crowd!

I’ll get out and take a picture as close to the place I can and post it.

Okay Naysayers. Here we go. Virtually same place. Same time of year. I may as well post all light modes now.

Crappy OEM Halogens. Low Beam.

New 55w Morimoto HID’s. Low Beams

HIDs and Morimoto Fog lights. Low Beam.

HIDs High Beam.

HIDs High Beam with BrightSource Light Bar and Aurora Fog Cubes.

Morimoto XB LED (in bumper) Fog Lights alone.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

If that doesn’t make you want to order some HIDs and change out your “candle light” OEM Halogens, nothing will.

I’ve had my Morimoto HIDs in my truck over 4 years. Absolutely flawless performance.

You were further back in the new photos compared to the old.....

So you’ve got hid lows? And what for the high beam? And led fog? All what light temp? And they visually look the same colour from the front?

@Abudett You’re kidding right??

You’re gonna call me on 15’? Come on. I’m just back from my original photo.

Look at the photos. Look at the light difference!!!

Original lights were OEM 9012 bulbs in projectors and OEM 9005 in Brights.
As my truck has Projectors, on low Beam, they’re 1/2 open. On High Beam they’re full open.
My HID bulbs are 5000k color.
My Brights are still Halogen PIAA Extreme White Plus 9005. They really don’t even come into play on bright.
LEDs are LEDs.
BrightSource Light Bar 10,000 Lumins. All spot.
Aurora Fog cubes are All Flood. 3250 luminous each. Pointed at ditches.

Not sure what my Morimoto in bumper XB LED Fog lights are.

Lol
Like for like. Of course I’m kidding.

I might have to invest in some. Did you have to cut the dust cover on your lights to install?

You have to drill an extra hole. About 7/8” or something. The kit comes with a rubber grommet for it.

I didn’t drill mine. The wires are small enough to come out of the side of the cover.

For the naysayers, there is NO comparison between a quality HID and projector setup vs halogen of any kind or even high end HIDs.

I guess it depends on the HID kit. When you look at the bulb assembly, it comes with the grommet with the wires coming through it. That’s the way my Morimoto kit came.

I installed my kit per the manufacturer’s recommendation. I drilled the holes. I used the rubber grommets.

Trying to look for cheapest option here in Canada. So far looking at around $660 plus taxes for hid lows and the Morimoto fogs.

I originally ordered my set up from Prolightz. Eastern Canada
Here’s a link.

I have also ordered from Ess K Customs. Manitoba I believe.
Here’s a link.

BTW. Nothing good quality is cheap.
