He said "I run 37ís when not towing and some 35 19.5 commercial tires when towing the toy hauler. Went with AAM 4.10ís from the factory 3.42ís " That means he was running the 37's before the switch, and now thinks he is turning less rpms. So yes, I did take it into consideration, hence my specific statement of "So, if you were turning 2,000 rpms at "X" speed in "Y" gear before..... you would turn approx 2,200 rpms now in that gear, at that speed"

I’ll give you one more chance..switching from 35’s to 37’s does drop rpm. He didn’t switch from 37’s to 35’s and noticed the drop. He switched from 35’s to 37’s and noticed the drop..

Think about it...

And I will give you one more chance.... he said he was ALREADY running those same 35 and 37 inch tires BEFORE the gear swap..... but didnt notice the rpm change till AFTER the gear drop, and directly related it to the gears Im well aware bigger tires turn less rpms, but he related the drop in rpms to changing gears, not changing tires If thats not what he meant, so be it... but thats what he said

It wasn't worded all that clearly but Nick is correct. As much as it pains me to say that.

He's not comparing rpm before and after a gear change. He's saying that he needs the low gearing while towing with the 35s and enjoys the rpm drop when he switches back to the 37s for highway cruising while unloaded. It only requires a mild rewording to dig out the point.

don't know. It only shuddered when I towed the boat.

Does it hold more fluid? I was under the impression it was the same capacity as the original

ding ding ding winner! Whoa sorry guys didnít mean for that to get so convoluted. Absolutely saw rpm INCREASE going from 3.42 to 4.10 (with either tire setup) but now that gear swap is complete, I enjoy the DROP in rpm going from the 35ís to 37ís when Iím not towing.

Definitely need all that gear with the toy hauler and 35’s but when unloaded on the 37’s it drops my engine rpm some on the highway when cruising to get slightly better mileage (maybe that’s just me thinking I am by turning less rpm, either way I feel better not turning over 2000 rpm when highway cruising). 4WP did the install and did a great job. Not a single bit of sound. Would recommend adding a finned diff cover (factory AAM style). Saw some very high temps with stock steel pan when towing 200+. 150 now with aluminum AAM cover and Amsoil severe gear .

When I put in my finned cover....what torque number should i do? Reason I ask is the cover is made out of aluminum and don't want to crack it.

Thanks
