According to the commercial commander CHP Sacramento CA tire load ratings are enforced for rvís. The CHP doesnít enjoy running traffic breaks and scooping up ďChina BombĒ RV parts and pieces. Most recreational vehicle accidents are caused by tire failure.

In my case, this was Highway from Hell.
Picture taken about 11 AM as I'm leaving CA for the last time in my Pete 359, pulling doubles.

Normally I would leave 4 AM at the latest, and don't even try to reenter the area before 9 PM. And that was even with just a pickup and a small enclosed trailer.

The failure on most RV's is that they are built out of tinder & tin and driven & maintained by, well, less than professional operators.

There is a reason that I run LR G commercial grade, all steel radial, trailer ( AKA lowboy) tires on my RV.:smile2:

I can't tell you how many times I had my re- tread trailer tires explode on I-5 going over the Grapevine when my brakes got hot. I really think they should outlaw re-treads, just look on the side of the hwy everywhere you go you will see tire bits and pieces.

And I do NOT run re-treads! Virgin casings 100%!!

And the company I worked for before retirement would not run them on any fuel/hazmat rigs either.
Water trucks n trailers, yeah. But they were mostly off road anyway.

I recently made the mistake of going through Salt Lake City in late afternoon. Holy cow!
It took a few hours to traverse that mess.

And it doesn't help that these days I consider it "damn traffic" if I have to wait for a vehicle at the stop sign by the main road. Which now, during tourist season, is about 25% of the time.

No, it didn't go anywhere. It's stuck in traffic, waiting for a roadside inspection.

You're 5.7 Hemi and the 'topic' is off course? :w:

That’s funny!

That’s my screen name I use over on FABO, FBBO, FEBO, and For Trucks Only, didn’t see a need to change it.
