Exhaust brake?

So I decided to roll my windows down while driving so I could maybe hear what the truck sounds like now. I have the exhaust brake in auto, I push the brake and then hear what sounds like a jet coming from my truck. I really did not know what the sound was. So I turned off the EB and then came to a stop, no sound. Turn the EB back on and sound comes back. So I’m guessing that this is how the exhaust brake is supposed to sound?

Yes, the EB restricts the exhaust flow, so it sounds like that.

Yep. That’s the sound that made me think “WTH was that”. Thanks for the video.

Also will hear it on cold starts in the winter....if you're lucky enough to live where it gets cold.

Everything is relative, lilbxl. Come up here to some 7,500 feet if you want to get cold(er).

Maybe if we start telling people that the brain is an app, they will start using it?
