Oil in intake

Changed my air filter and found oil in the intake just before the turbo. I assume this is from the pcv?
Has anyone done anything to prevent this? Thanks

That's the way they work.

But, you may need to change the CCV filter, it is meant to collect the excess crankcase blowby.

How many miles on the truck? Have you ever changed the CCV filter?

I have 31,000 miles. Have not changed the CCV filter. I dont like seeing the oil there, but I thought maybe its normal?
Anyone make a catch can setup for these? Thanks
Also just got back from a 2,000 mile trip towinig about 16K, we were moving quick, used a whole tank of def on trip.

The CCV filter IS the catch can.

Do you idle the engine much? That can cause more blowby.

Normal CCV change is at 67,500, so 31K it shouldn't need it yet.

My turbo inlet is very clean for a 467K mile engine, never any liquid oil in the inlet just slight residue, so it isn't a normal thing to have liquid oil there.

Is it a light, thin black coating? Or is it puddles of oil? What oil are you currently running?

Some vapour gets through. That's how mine is. Its not bad. Some oils have a higher NOACK value and produce more vapour.
