Adjustable Trailer Hitch

I have been looking at the B&W Tow and Stow hitches and was wondering if anyone is running this setup and what kind of drop they ended up going with? Are there any better hitches out there for the money? Thanks ahead for any input.

Bulletproof hitches look fairly stout and you can get them with the larger shanks. I have not tried them, though.

I researched the B&W and although it was a nice Choice and I’m sure it’s bulletproof, I went with a weigh-safe hitch, it’s absolutely awesome and it’s a thing of beauty, look into it, I went with a 8” drop and on my 18’ 2500 4x4 with stock 285/60r20 it’s the perfect drop.

I also have a weigh-safe. I went with the 10" drop to get my landscape trailer to sit level. I've had zero issues with it in thousands of miles of towing.

I looked into the B&W, Weigh-safe, Bulletproof, Fastway, and Gen-y hitches when I bought my new truck. I went with the Gen-Y Mega hitch 21K with an 9 inch drop. It offered the most options I could do with one hitch (pintle, weight distributing, 2 5/16 or 2" ball) for the same price as the weight safe. It's a heavy unit and can be used with Bolt Hitch locks for both the receiver and the height adjustment.

About a year ago I bought the B&W 7" drop TS20049B. It was a little spendy but a lot easier than swapping balls every other time I pulled one of my trailers. Looks great and gets out of the way when you don't need it.

I have many hitches, probably like many others here.

Most of them are the simple non adjustable type. You can flip em to go up XĒ or down XĒ . Iíve always bought the ones that are solid metal, not a square tube, that is pinched on end for ball.

As my collection of trailers grew, I wanted an adjustable hitch.

I went with a weigh safe unit. As I hook a few different types of trailers with random types of loads, having a scale made sense for me. Iíd highly recommend if you own or pull different trailers. Itís not as important if you ever pull one type of trailer with the same load, like an RV or car hauler that always hauls the same car.

The support they offer is top notch too. The scale on mine busted, they replaced it with no questions. They did not ask if I was hauling a D9 dozer or something extremely heavy. I just sent broken part, they sent a new replacement.

With that said, Iím still going to order a GenY Unit, As it offers a few more options.

Make sure to get the correct size, 3Ē shank.

Gen-Y torsion or shocker air hitch. Shocker air ball mount is only rated to 12,000lbs, so if you need more go for the Gen-Y.

i got one of these with the 2.5" shank. part number is 45902.

forgot what i paid but it was definitely cheaper on amazon. as long as you buy a name brand hitch i dont think you will have an issue with any of them

Went B&W as they make nice stuff....and here in the good ole us of a!

Really only have one bumper pull and itís a ut10 aluma so bit overkill but ya never know when you have to drag your buddies trailer home for him when his Ferd dies

Went for the 7 inch unit with 2 balls, I canít even remember how long itís been since Iíve seen a trailer with a 1 7/8 incher.
