2019 Fuel Mileage?

Just wondering if anyone with a 2019 3500 can chime in on their fuel mileage? I regret my 3500 Cab and Chassis every time I head out on a trip, don’t like the de-tuned engine, mileage or the huge amount of DEF usage. Deleting isn’t an option for me right now, so I am thinking very serious about a 2019 Dually. I just hope they are running efficiently

What are you looking to get? What’s your CC getting? 3500 dually’s, I think are in the mid teens empty.

Still very few 19's so far, and the few that are around haven't been driven enough to get an accurate idea of true fuel economy, plus, they all do better after they get over 5K miles on them. But, they shouldn't be any worse than 18 and older trucks.

I highly doubt you will see any measurable difference either way between your 2017 and the 2019. Not like it's a completely redesigned truck. Pretty much the same vehicle with a few small tweaks.

Iím averaging 12-13 empty, with a de-tuned truck. If I am going to get horrible mileage I at least want the HO engine. If I am pulling my toyhauler I go through 2.5 gallons of DEF for every tank of fuel.

Who buys a truck for fuel mileage, you ether need a truck or you donít regardless of mileage.

What gears did you get in you truck? How heavy is you toy hauler? What's the empty weight of your truck? What's you mileage loaded?

Having more power on tap doesnt always mean better fuel mileage. Takes more fuel to make more power, so the more power you're using the more fuel you're burning.

That's a bit of a loaded statement. If 2 trucks can do the same job but one gets better mileage any one who puts a lot of miles on their truck would look pretty hard at the better mileage

Figure 50k a year at 20mpg 3.50 a gallon 8750 in fuel.
19 mpg 9210 a year.
15 mpg 11670 a year.
Adds up pretty quick if you travel a lot.

Holy Shiznits that's crazy, must be something wrong with your truck.

Unloaded My new 2018 Mega cab dually Aisin and 3.73 gears had been averaging 17.7 mpg with the last tank at 19.1 mpg. Averaging 95% 2 lane highways at 65 mph slowing down for small towns and rural intersection stop signs. The other 5% city shopping with the wife.

Black 2018 Laramie 3500, MC, DRW, 4WD, H.O. Cummins, Aisin, 3:73 gears. Towing a 2017 Torque 325 Toyhauler, 39', pin weight 2,370, GVWR 16,250, GCW 23,870 goosebox hitch. Retired, sort of.

You didn't read his first post very well, his current truck is a 3500 cab and chassis, not a pickup, low power engine and probably 4.10 gears, so his mileage is about average for that truck.

Itís pretty clear this industry thinks differently than you...

If you say ďyah well those are semiísĒ then youíre missing my point entirely.

Big or small (trucks), mileage matters.
